For more than 35 years, I have dedicated my life to helping responsible citizens develop the knowledge, skill, judgment, and confidence required to protect themselves and those they love.

My roots taught me the value of hard work, personal accountability, discipline, and respect for others. Those principles continue to guide every class I teach.

I founded The Carry Guy Firearms Shooting Academy because knowing how to fire a handgun is only one part of being prepared. Responsible firearm ownership also requires awareness, sound judgment, respect for the law, and the ability to recognize when using a firearm is—and is not—necessary.

At our private outdoor training academy in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, students receive professional, structured, and safety-focused instruction. Whether you are handling a handgun for the first time or building upon years of experience, you will be treated with patience, respect, and honesty.

I do not believe that owning or carrying a firearm automatically makes someone prepared.
